"...masterful ... truly a brilliant artist with incredible depth and range."
"... a pleasure to see our state depicted with such sensitivity, affection and expertise."
The son, grandson and great-grandson of artists, Paul studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. While still a student, Paul began selling his watercolor landscapes. A moody painting of a rain drenched field won a purchase prize at the prestigious Union League Club Exhibition in 1981.
In 1986, Paul moved to Seattle and began a career as an award winning Illustrator.
An article Paul wrote for the Seattle Times on travel sketching became a catalyst that returned him to landscape painting. That award winning story inspired a year-long series of articles for the Times in which he painted and wrote about the diverse landscapes of Washington State.
Paul is married to his talented, tolerant and supportive wife, Linda Wallace, a freelance photo art director. He gets advice on painting from his very artistic 8 year old daughter, Anna.
